Cutting out pork is also a money saver. All that really needs to be done is to take a serious long look at how the government spends money and one will find so much waste it may just make rebuilding the US affordable. Considering the problems of the F-35 I would not really consider it quality. The planes we sent to Israel are to be modified there and a complete redo of the software of the plane. Problem is that we can't deliver the planes right now for the problems it's having...... so we do need to fire up the production of the F-18 to have the planes we need right now... It's a matter of quantity over quality, for the F-35 isn't deliverable in quantity and we need planes right now. I read last week that over half of the planes the marines use are not flight worthy Building some more F-18's may well get the F-35 production people on the ball, for the whole production could be scrapped as was the B-1 when they stopped building that (expletive delete) thing.
