This sounds like arson for the insurance . The home owner doesn't have a problem with the cops doing this. And he himself was on the force. And they even asked someone else who was taking pictures to leave. A civilian isn't as privileged to take snaps as are law enforcement? Usually, everything someone has is lost in a fire. Not caring about cops who take a selfie while yours is fully engulfed behind them is very strange. And what are they going to do with the picture? I can see the civilians being asked to leave, hard to fight a fire if everyone and their dog is snapping pictures, but the article leaves out a lot of info. For example maybe they were friends of the sargeant. You never know. But, to suggest its insurance fraud because of a couple Cops taking selfies, and asking civilians to leave the area (which they always do) is quite a leap, a ridiculous leap, as a matter of fact. At most it was just poor timing by a couple cops to take a selfie. In today's social media enthused culture. Hardly worth more then a slap on the wrist, should never even have hit national news. Or even the local news. Did you see the picture in the article of the cops taking the picture? They're smiling. There were no firetrucks for any civilian snapping shots to be in the way of. And who smiles and takes a selfie in front of the fully engulfed house of a fellow police officer? What on the earth would two cops want to commemorate of themselves as they stand smiling in front of a fully consumed police sergeants home? I agree it wasn't the time and place...but it's also not worth the national news. it most assuredly is a smoke screen to distract us from bigger things. keep us focused on small stuff while they pull something big behind the scenes. And I assure you, if the house was on fire, there were fire trucks and fireman there. Civilians are always escorted back in fires and what not, because even if there isn't a fire truck where that civilian is standing right now that doesn't mean they won't need to be there in the very near future.
