If you all look back at the OP, you'll see the first sentence says, "once upon a time there was a church organization".

That is the topic of "what's right and what's wrong".

The spider is not the topic.

The spider is a character within a story.

But the story is about the church organization.

Listen to me Rabbit,

I'm going to turn this into a serious discussion.  I'm very good at that...

So...The Spider is YOU.  You are new here.  You have entered into a building.  You are spinning your web.

Now, if I only knew what the web represents...

The Church... You said the church could represent a lot of different things... Like the YMCA.  Okay.  So could this Worthy Christian Forum be a church?  It IS an organization.  We are amongst fellow believers.  There are more than 2 gathered here.  So  is THIS the church to which you are referring?

Please advise.  (so I could sleep tonight).

Fran

The important thing is not knowing who is right or wrong. To illustrate this, see what happens when there is only physical liberation.

At the time King Cyrus issued the decree allowing all Israelites to return to Jerusalem to build the temple (Ezra 1.2.3), only a small part returned. Most preferred to be a slave in Babylon to be free in Jerusalem. And even those who returned, instead of committing themselves to rebuilding the temple and restoring worship, preferred to build their homes and live their selfishness, using the opposition of their opponents (Ezra 4:4) as an excuse to say that the time to build the temple of the Eternal didn’t have arrived (Haggai 1.9).  They did not think like David:

"Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed; I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids, until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.” (Sl 132.3-5).

It is quite true that Ha-Satan was opposing Joshua the priest (Zec 3:1). However, what was the use of simply rebuking Ha-Satan when there was no love and zeal for the Eternal in the hearts of the Israelites? Hence the importance of the Eternal Himself to rebuke. The question is not whether or not we have authority, whether we are right or not. Unless the Eternal makes His voice heard, even though the individuals around us seek the Eternal in response to our ministry, they will still be seeking the wrong god (having a wrong view of who Jesus is) or seek Jesus for the wrong motive (as lover of Christ, rather than bride). They will be doing our will, following our God, being our image and likeness rather than knowing the true God, and then following and doing what the Eternal put in their hearts (after the Eternal works His will in their hearts, they will no longer follow an alien god, but Emanuel - Matt 1:23; Phil 2:12-13).

Ultimately, the important thing is that people see in us the truth (1 Timothy 3:15), as well as living testimony that it really works.

May Jesus use us so that the person can be convinced by the Holy Spirit about the sin of righteousness and judgment (John 16:8), instead of we want to impose our ideas on them.
