Hope that someone did not come along and get rid of the spider.

When people are afraid of something, they tend to want to kill it or have it killed.

I guess people have different 'red lines'...mine wouldn't allow me to attend regularly a Roman Catholic Church in good conscience.

I said the Catholic Church because I have many Catholic friends and I go sometimes.

But I've also been to Pentecostal churches that I feel the same about.

A hypothetical:  What if there was NO OTHER CHURCH AROUND?

Would you attend the, let's say, Catholic church, or would you just stay home?

I have mixed feelings about this.

Good question. I'd probably stay home. (But I don't want to go into the 'why's' or we will turn this into a catholic bashing thread...not the intent of the OP.)

Nor is it my intent.  I don't like to bash - we're all just doing our best.  Be it US, or the church (small c). I think I'd probably do the same.

OK.

I do not attend a Church. I am very fussy who teaches me the Word of God. I have not found a Church yet where I am comfortable who teaches from the Bible the literal true word of God. There seems to be so many cliques. The last Church I went to I loved the Pastor's sermons and I learned a lot. But the Church grew so much I felt like I was lost. People seemed to be more interested in the social aspect of the Church rather than in what the Church is really meant for and that is God.

No Rabbit I would not stay. If I can not attend a Church of Philadelphia like is in the book of Revelation I would rather not attend.

The spider does not want to leave.

He has already made friends.

But there are other factions, they may be to big for the spider to overcome.

Don't you miss Christian fellowship?  Do you have many friends that are Christian?  I miss my brother, for instance.  We used to talk about God all the time.  Isn't a church good for this reason?

No just because it is a Church is not a reason for me to attend. The Church has to line up with my belief. I have a daily relationship with God and I study His Word. It is not a salvation issue to attend a Church. I have attended all kind of denominations to experience them. My SIL was Catholic and I attended several masses with her and the Catholic Church is not my cup of tea.

As long as God is number one in your life and He is in the drivers seat and you are a born again Christian with the Holy Spirit within you to guide you then attending a Church is not a big deal. Especially if it is a Church of Laodicea like in the book of Revelation that was in danger of being lukewarm. The old saying " Just because a person sleeps in a garage does not make them a car" goes for a person who attends Church. That does not make them a Christian.

I live a very plain life. Most people would find me very boring. I do not watch television, I do not go to movies, I do not listen to secular music and I do not read secular books and I do not drink alcohol. I can not relate to many people in this world and that includes many Christians. I do not want to become desensitized to this world and what it has to offer. I stay in prayer and I just stay where I think God wants me to be. Conversations I have had with many "Christians" think I am very strange. There are many I can not relate with, we just do not have a lot in common. But I feel like a flower in the desert in this world. It really has nothing to offer me as I look around and see what the world has become.
