Apparently this year's Coorespondents dinner is not a sure thing....wouldn't it be funny if it was cancelled?  No bloviating reporters, self important 'celebrities' or bad jokes?

I think it would be kind of a bummer.  It has been going on for 97 years and fifteen different president have been to at least one of them.   It has always been a good chance for everyone to not take themselves so serious for just a few hours at least.

It is a good tradition and it would be a bummer for it to come to an end.

I'd think that would be a first if they canceled this event. Though it would support Trump's opposition to slant reporting. Why would anyone want to feed and entertain a fourth estate that aligns against the nation and its leadership?

Those were the days when people could be passive aggressive and sarcastic and still be respectful and mature.  I don't see that kind of maturity in people these days.

For the press it would be but, in today's climate in Washington...I don't see why ANY reporter would want to attend.  Sometimes traditions outlive their purpose.

If not, I can see a lot of misery and pain delivered by angry insults.

Here's an idea:

Combine the People's Choice Awards; The Oscars; The Emmys; and The WH Correspondence Dinner into one YUUUUGE event.

It could be called RAGE AGAINST THE DEPLORABLES or something -  and held at the Colosseum in Los Angeles.

Maybe make it a national holiday . . .

Blessings,

-Ed
