As I just stated, most illegal immigrants absolutely do want American citizenship. And they didn't just come here to "freeload," they usually hold jobs and pay taxes. According to one study of illegal immigrants in Texas, they paid about 1.6 billion dollars in state and local taxes in 2005.

I agree that it would have been better for them to have immigrated legally in the first place. However, the fact is that they are living in the US now, including some that have lived here for years (60% of them for over a decade) and now have children who were born here.

The vast majority of Americans don't want forced deportation to take place. http://thehill.com/blogs/pundits-blog/immigration/320185-trump-faces-complicated-road-to-immigration-reform

So you are for allowing unfettered infiltration into the U.S.?

You're welcome to invent your own definitions for words, but don't expect others to know what you mean by them. Illegal immigrant is a pretty commonly used term, and no, it's not an oxymoron, or even "PC."

Do you have any evidence that these fast food workers are in the US illegally? It's unfair to just lump them all together if you don't have solid reasoning to do so.

So it's unfair; LIFE is unfair.

Nope.

Are you okay with your life being unfair too, or is that just for everyone else? If you want to be treated fairly and compassionately, be proactive in extending compassion and fairness to others.

There's nothing 'unfair' about enforcing the law.  I'm a citizen but, if I wasn't, I wouldn't expect to live in someone else's country illegally.

I was actually referring to how you lumped all the fast food workers together as being illegal immigrants.

Unless you are a fast food worker, I just don't see why you continue to question what I said.  I said it and I meant it.

A day without illegal immigrants is a great start.

It would seem logical that LEGAL immigrants aren't out protesting; why would they?  They've nothing to fear.  And why would they risk losing their jobs?  The whole thing was a bust from what I've seen.

Rewarding those who break our immigration laws by making them citizens isn't fair to the legal immigrants who came here the right way.

Often times it seems that when the topic of illegal immigration arises the illegal part is omitted in conversation. Making it seem what is being opposed is immigration itself. Which is untrue. That's what garners the accusation of xenophobe, etc.... from those that don't seem to understand the difference.
