We have a good day but the next day we have a flat tire or some disaster happens at home or at work. It can take its toll spiritually and leaves unbelievers wondering about the reliability of our faith and trust and leave us doubting "Where are you God?". Christ never changes. He is always the same. Tough times come, but they can never separate us from the constant and steadfast love of God. We need to be freed from elevator Christianity. I also love the emotions I get when I see family and people I have not seen in a long time. To make emotions a front stage position of my decision making is not good at all. Yes, and I replied in a way with my first post. During the very tough times, we need more then ever to keep our eyes on God and not our circumstances. When we take out eyes off Him, and focus on what we are going through, the bad emotions we feel with develop into more doubt, which, in turn, becomes unbelief after awhile.
