This is what we need. When I was a teenager those were the years when we lost sexual morality. It seemed like fun back then but within 20 years I knew we made a mistake. Now we have too many orphans and too many abortions. The real solution to all this is for people to develop sexual morals again. Somehow the idea that a life without casual sex is worse than a life without sunshine, and that's ridiculous. If sexual morals are going to come back it will probably have to be done by us, the Christians. Because sexual morals come from God and we are God's ambassadors here on earth. This will mean big changes in how we behave and in how we dress. I know women often feel that they should be able to wear whatever they please but if they wear clothes that fires up the lust response in guys then actually it's a sin. The reason is in the epistles and I can't remember the scripture I want. But I know Paul said if what we does causes his brother to sin then he won't do it. So if what you wear causes someone else to sin you shouldn't wear it.

And parents have to teach their children that sex isn't important. Parents also need to remember children learn mostly from watching and listening to their parents, what the parents say and do effects the children more than what you try and teach them.

So what do you all I think, I want this to start a discussion. I'm not just preaching.

I agree with Yowm, the only way to curb sexual immorality is to change the heart of the individual, one soul at a time.

Good intentions at heart you have to draw back men to the moral standards that God have set for man to live.   But i am afraid that as the saying goes the genie is out of the bottle and when he is out there is no way putting it back in.  Sexual perversion and immorality is one of satan's grand arsenal that he uses effectively to allure his victims to the dark side and away from sanctified living.  On our own, we are helpless against this formidable foe, therefore, putting on the full armor of God and watching for his snares that he sets so cleverly must be done.   The christian will be tested and tried intensively, and with the advent of social media and ease of access to internet, the children of today has to be taught vigorously at the home about the standards that God commands.

Exploitation of women and children sexually around the globe is appalling and in the poorer countries where governments and laws are corrupted, it is a huge problem.  But it is an issue that must be addressed as mistress Babylon, the mother of all prostitution and abominations is always on the prowl for her next victims.

One of the questions that disturbs me a lot is internet porn.  Why has governments allow this scourge to come into the home and corrupt from young to old with the filth.  This being protected under the name of free speech is absurd and it is a shame of the lawmakers who has allowed this to rage on.  America has taken the lead and promoted much of this and she has to set the standard again to bring back decency and moral ethics to family life and the home at large.  Good topic, it is long overdue.

As much as I detest porn, I do not want this government or any other deciding what is acceptable or not for me to view/read.  This leads to a very bad place very quickly.

And why not.  Movies are censored with a age restriction and you abide by that law.  Why can't internet videos with explicit sexual content be restricted to make it illegal for the providers of those smut to be held accountable for streaming unwanted garbage to the unsuspecting eyes.  So what is your answer to help protect the children who are being exposed and bombarded from men and media with raw sexual material that should not be in a society period.   Yes, what you want to do in your home is your rights and choice, but when it is forced on you and affects the family then it becomes a problem.

Nobody is forced to watch porn or to access it via the internet, those are choices they make. I am an adult and I do not need the government to make choices for me, and as a Libertarian I am opposed to any overreach by the government.  Who is going to get to decide what is acceptable for you or for me?   If children are accessing it via the web then it is a failure of the parents to protect their children.  I have no children in my household anymore but I still have an excellent filter on my computer that allows me, the individual, to set up what I want blocked and what I do not want blocked.   While i do not desire to watch porn, if an adult wishes to that is their right and it is not my place or your place to tell them they cannot.

True JTC, as Christ ambassadors, God would have us set the example, not only in words, but in doing! The lost world is watching to be sure!
For parents like mine in the past, that more or less would teach: "do as I say, not as I do" does not work. Children quickly see the hypocrisy, and often wind up doing the same things their told not to do.
Thank God, He can renew our minds with His Word for any that repent and believe on Christ! I know I'm eternally grateful! :)

As Christians, look to be the folks Christ has called us to be. Not only to the world, but towards our younger Brethren for those who have grown in Christ.
The "modest" dress you refer to for the ladies , would indirectly apply towards men as well in our promiscuous/tight/skimpy clothing generation.
(1Ti 2:9-10)
In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

I believe here were a few of the Scripture verses you referred to, although referring to meat scarified to idols could be anything that causes our younger Brethren to stumble:
(1Co 8:9-13)
But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak. For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols; And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died? But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ. Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.

God will help the young Christian grow. I'm not munching on any burgers around my younger vegan Brother in Christ either:
(Rom 14:1-3)
Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.

Many Christian guidelines for the young and old alike are found in Titus chapter 2. May all the Brethren prayerfully look to God as we look to apply them in our own lives :
(Tit 2:1-15)
But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you. Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; Not purloining, (stealing) but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Pornography is heavily connected to organized crime and it needs to be banned, along with prostitution. Neither have any rightful place in the United States or any civilized country and those participating need to be sent to prison.

You may not want the government telling you what you can't watch but that may be the only way out of this mess. And remember this mess has criminal implications. To make porn causes more crime than you may know. It has to be stopped.

And it all starts by people talking about. That's why I made this thread. It's like trying to help an addict. You can't help him if you won't say the words, addiction Heroin Cocaine etc.

And if we get sexual morality back in into our society we won't have such an overwhelming problem with abortions and orphans.
