They are concerned about obesity? I wonder if that is the only reason?

Food stamps should be for healthy food and not for junk.

If someone is reliant on food stamps to feed their family, I see nothing wrong with banning candy and soda.  Remember who is paying for this help to needy people.

There was a pop issue in Michigan where I use to live because in Michigan you can turn your pop cans/bottles  in at the grocery story and get .10cents back.  The issue was some people who were getting foodstamps were just buying the pop to to get the .10cents. It can add up if you save your cans. So there was talk about them banning foodstamps from buying pop.

I don't have an issue with them putting a ban on pop and candy. As there is really no real need for it.  But that is as far as I would go.

I can see where that would be an issue. Pop and candy are not a need it is a want.
