Recently many have been trying to connect the Rapture with Jewish feasts, and also engage in date-setting (something favored by false prophets).  Neither of these movements are solidly based on what is revealed in the New Testament, and are therefore pure speculation.

The Rapture has always been IMMINENT -- could occur at any time unexpectedly and unannounced.  The Second Coming of Christ is entirely different, and all the inhabitants of the earth will know when this occurs, and will mourn.

Here is a link to an article which provides more reasons why the Rapture should not be connected with Jewish feasts.

Agreed

The whole church will be made immortal just before the Lord brings His wrath and judgment against an unbelieving world

All believers will be made immortal .... then He will turn to Israel for their time of trouble [the 70th week decreed] and the balance of the world will be subjected to His judgment

Just that simple

Hi Ezra,

I disagree with your statement - `The Rapture has always been IMMINENT -- could occur at any time unexpectedly and unannounced.`  Here is why.

Jesus said - `...when the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak: & He will tell you things to come.` (John 16: 13)

`...till we all come to the unity of the faith & the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ., that we should no longer be children, tossed to & fro & carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness by which they lie in wait to deceive, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head - Christ. (Eph. 4: 13 - 15)

I think there is more truth that the Holy Spirit will be clarifying to the Body for us to come to the unity of the Faith & knowledge of the Son of God, growing up into Him.

Marilyn.

God’s Holy People in the Last Days:  A total refutation of the rapture to heaven theory:

Daniel 8:23-26 In the last days, when sin is most prevalent, a powerful leader will arise. He will succeed in whatever he does, and will take control of the mighty nations and God’s holy people. By cunning and deceit, his plans will come about and cause great harm to many when they least expect it. He will challenge even the Prince of Princes, but then will be broken, but not by human hand. This prophecy tells of events to happen in the distant future.

Daniel 7:23-25 The explanation given is: There will be a 4th kingdom, one that will encompass the whole earth. Initially ten rulers will govern it, but another leader will take over all this kingdom. He will defy the Most High God and will conquer the holy ones of God.

Revelation 13:7 The ‘beast’ is allowed to wage war on God’s people and to defeat them…. Zechariah 14:1-2

Daniel 11:32 By plausible promises he will win over those who will violate the Covenant, but some will resolutely keep their faith.

These Bible prophesies are proof that God’s holy people, His chosen elect people; all those true born again believers; the One people of God, Ephesians 4:4-6, are not removed from the earth, as some would think, but are present in the holy Land during the last few years of this age.

As we see in Daniel 11:32 and in Zechariah 14:2, they divide into two groups, one remaining in the holy Land and the other goes away.  Revelation 12:6-17 again shows these two groups; the faithful ones who refused the peace treaty with the leader of the World Govt, taken to a place of safety and those who did agree, Isaiah 28:14-15, must remain. Revelation 12:17

The fact of all the righteous Christians living in all of the Holy Land, before the Return of Jesus, is well prophesied in all of the Bible. Many do not see it because of false teachings and not comprehending the truth of how Christians are now to be the recipient’s of the promises of God, given initially to ethnic Israel, but now available to all true believers.

We Christians look forward to being at last the people God has always wanted in His holy Land.

That is our promise and our great privilege; to be alive to participate at this critical time of mankind’s history.

Well the Church has had approximately 2,000 years to experience  the things mentioned in those Scriptures.  Since we are now is the midst of the Great Apostasy, you will only be seeing a decline in churches, not the opposite.  And regardless of the teachings given to the Church, the words of Christ are crystal clear.  He said He could come at any moment, and indeed the Christians in the apostolic churches had this expectation.

Hi Ezra,

Yes I agree about the decline in the organised religious system of man, however....the Body of Christ has not yet come to the unity of the faith & the knowledge of the Son of Man, - meaning that true believers everywhere have yet to have the final truth clarified. To have the knowledge of the Son of Man is to know Him personally in our lives, (as we know) & also to know His character & His purposes. This is the final truth to be clarified - His purposes for the Body of Christ, for Israel & for the nations.

If the Lord`s return was imminent, at any moment, then it would be like `a thief in the night.` As God`s word tells us that Jesus will not return for His body like that, but we will see the day approaching.

`But you brethren are not in darkness that this day should overtake you as a thief.` (1 Thess. 5: 4)

`...exhorting one another, & so much the more as you see the Day approaching.` (Heb. 10: 25)

Marilyn.

The appointed Mo'ed's [the Jewish feasts] will be fulfilled in God's good timing. They are annual celebrations that point to a past or still future event. But I have posted here because I dislike to see how people think a rapture to heaven is a sure thing.

What I pray all will do, is see the real truth of what actually will happen.

Do you realize what a joke the rapture to heaven theory is? For all of our lifetimes, this issue has been discussed, argued over, even fought over. Innumerable books, movies, etc made about it and still no consensus about when it could happen. There is no Bible verse that says God will take living people to heaven, but those who promote a rapture say; It is there, you just can't see it!  Sorry, I can't see it because it isn't there!

There is a huge deception going on here. People have believed false teachers, Paul said they would. 2 Timothy 4:3-4

And God has allowed those wolves to ravage His flock. So most of the Church is not aware of what God really does plan for our future. They are complacent and careless, which means when the hard times come, they won't have the strength of faith to stand firm. Luke 21:34-36 [and don't think escape all these things, means a rapture, because that idea is pure assumption and conflicts with scriptures as above.]

Keras, the word heaven means the sky in certain parts of scripture, the known universe in others, and Gods abode, the heaven of heavens, in another.  1 Thessalonians tells us we will be caught up in the clouds, meaning the sky.  So saying we will be raptured to heaven is not incorrect.

Clutching at straws now, aren't we?   Jesus comes from Heaven, God's abode, and appears on earth. Those Christians who remain alive at that time will be gathered to Him. Exactly as Matthew 24:30-31 says.
