OK. They have hundreds of God's laws. If we have to obey laws of any number to be saved we'd be very busy. The ten laws are laws pertaining to personal character. If we have to have those inscribed in order to obey them and attain reward in Heaven we're not worthy of Heaven . I think those that hear God's voice are those that are able to be decent in the first place. Depraved unconscionable probably can't hear God.

you are close here--- none of us are worthy of heaven, because we can not keep the law perfectly which is what is required to enter heaven- no sin at all perfect adherence to the 10 that God originally gave us.

Doesnt sound good, until you get to the part where Jesus can be our substitute and live a perfect life for us. His death and shed blood is the sacrifice to pay for our inability to keep they law------ any one who tries to attain heaven by keeping the law- will not get there-

Jesus said he did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. Fulfilling it is not abolishing the law. It is fulfilling it. Because the law is of God. Jesus even repeated the laws that his apostles were to teach people to keep. Odd act for someone who was here to take that away.

that means he lived it perfectly- something no one else could or would do-- that is why he could be the perfect sacrifice for us- only some one who is perfectly holy can enter heaven-- the only way we can be perfectly holy is if Jesus imputes his righteousness to us-- the only way that that can happen is if we trust in him only- not out own efforts to keep the law

When we accept him for having died for us in that manner we're no longer sinners. He became the sin for us.

Reading first page all over again it seems like there are those that argue we are under the law still.

I'm not surprised anymore by what I find written in religious forums. There are preachers of all types at sites I've browsed or joined and sooner or later someone will argue that it is all a lie. Some form or fashion their own insecurity puts up this wall based on statements that indicate eternal life isn't really. Or,  rebirth can be reversed so as to imply the Christian isn't really secure in God's promise and Jesus' death.

I've met people on the net that need a master with a whip to keep them in line. They're terrified of thinking and living outside a prescribed box because they really don't like themselves. God of the automotons.

God is spirit. That's outside and beyond the ideas that argue from a fleshly perspective. God told us so when he said his thinking isn't going to be like our own. And we can't know his thoughts being we are not God.

But we try to argue what God means and what God expects and actually believe first that everything that God is in order to be God occupies its existence obsessed with our every thought and action. Work to please that which predestined your being.

It sounds more like a treasure hunt. Looking to find the clues as to what God predetermined for the individuals life so as to make them glory in the flesh as his testament . :)  I see it like that. I'm worthy of God's best! :D
