The New Liberal Translation? Lol jk. I wouldn't call it the best but neither the worst. Id put it about middle of the road as far as accuracy, slightly above the NIV. I know my wife likes it a lot.

I presume you mean the New Living Translation.

I've never used it myself. However, it's quite popular amongst the youth generation in the UK.

We are told that young people have very short attention spans, so any translation that gets them reading the Bible must be worthwhile. They can always graduate to a meatier version later.

I am reading it now.  I like the flow of it.  Wasn't too impressed reading 2nd Corinthians.  But now I am reading Genesis and I like how it makes the history and the different tribes easy to understand.

Paraphrases do not need study. Get a real Bible and do some serious Bible study.

Aren't all bibles paraphrases?  Or do you have access to the original texts?

No, all Bibles are NOT paraphrases, and I don't know how you arrived at that conclusion.  While we do not have the original manuscripts in existence, we do have the traditional Hebrew and Greek texts which represent the originals faithfully, and we do have faithful, accurate, and reliable English (and other) translations.  Kindly take some time to study this issue carefully.

But if we don't know how to study the Greek and Hebrew, then it would be a paraphrase.  Some words in the Greek and Hebrew cannot directly translate to English.

par·a·phrase

ˈperəˌfrāz/

verb

1.

express the meaning of (the writer or speaker or something written or spoken) using different words, especially to achieve greater clarity.

That is simply not true.  Those scholars who translated the King James Bible (for example) were extremely well-versed in all the languages required for translation, and provided a word-for-word translation in the majority of cases.  They were definitely NOT paraphrasing.  Once again, take some time to study this matter properly before saying anything more.

I am done discussing this with you.  You obviously have a biased chip and I can not discuss an open topic with a closed mind.
