Yes, I have to agree, the KKK and neo=nazis are terrorists just as much as the muslim ones are.  They need to be removed from our society as well.  But, remember, ALL terror groups use our freedoms against us.

They are not terrorists, at least not how the government defines them.

they can disagree with me, but blowing up a church because of the race of the church goers isn't terrorism according to above definitions which include attempting to coerce the government to relent to their political and social goals.

It is a hate crime not an act of terrorism.   We can't just label every crime "terrorism"  otherwise  we remove any meaning from the word.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) defines terrorism as “the unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.”

And that is precisely why the church burning was not an act of terrorism.   That was a hate crime, not an  act of terrorism.  There were no political or social objectives tied to it and there was nothing about it aimed at coercing the government to do something.   It was an act of hate, not terrorism.

Well what if it was a group of  Muslims that blew up a Christian church? Would you consider that terrorism?

On its face, no.  It's a hate crime.   If a ISIS or a recognize Islamic terrorist group takes responsibility for it and says that there is more to follow unless the government complies with its demands, that changes it to an act of terrorism.

Yeah, agreed with MG and LadyKay. By the common definition and the FBI's definition, these kinds of acts are terrorism.

Under the FBI's definition, committing an act of violence to intimidate civilians is also terrorism. This would include white supremacists killing racial minorities in addition to extremist Christians bombing abortion clinics.

Okay I found this on wikipedia:

Under current United States law, set forth in the USA PATRIOT Act, acts of domestic terrorism are those which: "(A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State; (B) appear to be intended – (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and (C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States."[2] [3]

It has to be connected to advancing  a political or social agenda.    You don't get to customize the definition to make it fit what you want it to fit.

And that eliminates a hate crime like burning down an African American church just because the people that attend there are African Americans.

Hate crimes are not terrorism.
