I guarantee you the vast majority of Californians don't want to secede. It would also be a pretty major loss to the rest of the US. That's a lot of missing tax revenue.

I was being facetious, but I really don't care about CA.  They are a mess since Arnold was governor.

Let's just let them secede like they want.  Just make CA a country all its own and then all them off.   I mean, we'll lose Hollywood, but who cares about them?

Not me, but I DO care about the regular people in California that would be left to fend for themselves in a country that is broke right now when they are just a state.

Frankly, if California seceded and successfully became an independent nation, I'd strongly consider moving there, but it would be better to keep the US intact.

I've lived in California, in San Francisco and, while it's beautiful out there, it's also very strange to a conservative like me.

The ones who don't want to be part of it could move out of CA and move to other states here and we could let CA go and they could be their own liberal, gay, nation.

If California were to secede, they would die economically. At best, be a third world country. Their primary business is Hollywood and tourism, both would suffer a hit if they secceeded and they rely on the rest of the US moreso then they think the US relies on them. They are not self sufficient, a good portion of their water, energy, fuel, and even food comes In from the Continental US. Much of which would be cut off if they left.

Furthermore they have set themselves to be that way, with their socialist policies, of always turning to the government to solve their problems. If they left the US, Trump would not have to go to war like Lincoln did to get them back, just cut them off and they will come crawling back begging in a matter of time. Unlike other states such as Texas, they have no hope of self sustaining.
