The Pharisees certainly knew that Jesus was claiming to be the Messiah as stated clearly in this passage from John 10:

22 Then came the Festival of Dedication[b] at Jerusalem. It was winter, 23 and Jesus was in the temple courts walking in Solomon’s Colonnade. 24 The Jews who were there gathered around him, saying, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.”

25 Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me, 26 but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all[c]; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”

31 Again his Jewish opponents picked up stones to stone him, 32 but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?”

33 “We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.”

There is a real danger for all of us -- for Christian and non-Christian.  We will make a statement that we have heard somebody else say or we have read somewhere.  It lines up with our beliefs so we just accept it and repeat it.  We don't take the time to do some research and find out if it's really true or not.

If the person posting the initial question had done the research, he or she would have found out that what he/she was saying isn't true.  He/she shows his/her ignorance of the subject in doing so.

But, as I said, we Christians can be just as guilty of that.  It behooves all of us to do our homework and make sure we know what we're talking about.

I guess we all need to think about evidence and burdens of proof. I don't think you can provide proof of bible claims by merely quoting the bible nor just try and convince he was not the messiah but some video. Rational thinking about what you think is true is the most reliable way to find the most likely

One video. Atheists are funny. I know; I used to be one.

What made you become a believer?

I finally realized atheism required more faith in huge numbers and blind chance than I, as a thinking human being, was able to give it.  Once that threshold was crossed I began to question every belief I held, and my journey to Jesus began.
