Actually, I figured this was coming when he went off on 'vacation' after all the news broke.  I guess Bill simply harrassed his female coworkers one time too many.  If the allegations are true then I'm glad he was fired.

true or not when you sponsors leave, you don't have a job in that business no matter how many people watch you...    they may loose viewers over it though because he is leaving.  He had pretty much lost me for some time unless someone I really wanted to see interviewed was there...    DVR lets you pick and choose.

It will be interesting to see what they do with the time slot.

Yes, it will.   I'd like to see Dana Perrino or Martha McCallum take that slot.  I never liked O'Reilly, I think he's a pompous windbag and I won't miss his show.

The five is moving to the 9PM slot if I understood them today, so Tucker will probably move into o'Riley's time slot. The guy in the middle of the five  is going to stay in that slot and Waters will join the five on at 9.

I never really took to the Five, nor did I care for Waters.  I think they can do much better than that.

Not surprised O'Reilly is gone.  While he denied all the accusations, he (or Fox) has supposedly paid out millions of dollars to the accusers over the years to buy them off.  While I know the argument that 'it's easier to buy them off than to fight them in court', I still think that a truly innocent man would want the chance to defend himself against such claims.

This will be a feather in the cap of those who hate Fox News, though.  Supposedly there is a rift between the old guard (Rupert Murdoch) and his sons as to the future of the network.  Rupert is NOT right wing (though he had the business acumen when he founded Fox News to market it as a right-wing alternative).  The sons want to take it in a different direction.

I imagine we'll see a NY Times headline soon to the effect "Fox news has grown and matured now that a new generation has taken over."

Blessings,

-Ed
