It's corn. Popped corn. Yes, it counts as a veggie. At least in my pantry it does.

It's high in fiber anyway. lol

lol This is true.

Here's a helpful hint but some may know about it anyway. You can save money buying bulk bags of popping corn. Then go to a dollar store and buy a pack of brown paper bags. Like is sold for school lunch bags. Pour in a cup of the popping corn and pop for the same amount of time as you would commercial bagged popping corn. Just roll the end of the brown paper bag shut real tight first.

Did you buy fruit that isn't quite ripe. Maybe that apple that feels like a baseball? Put that in a brown paper bag, roll the bag shut, place in the window so the sun hits the bag and the fruit will ripen. Check it the next day and see if it  is ready. If not leave for a day. Check the next day after.

Being single, I find it hard to buy a lot of fresh vegetables because I invariably end up throwing good money in the garbage.  I DO eat a lot of vegetables though so the frozen ones just make more sense for someone like me.  This new study finds that I, and a lot of other people, can stop feeling guilty about not eating the fresh varieties.  It seems we aren't losing the nutritional value and, bonus, we save money!

I buy fresh vegetables organic depending on if that particular vegetable is subject to pesticides. If I buy fresh carrots I put some water in a plastic container and put the carrots in the water. They last for at least a week. You need to change the water daily. If I buy them I will eat them soon in a salad or with dip for a snack. If I do not buy fresh I buy frozen. But I like canned green beans better than frozen. I am cautious with frozen anything because there have been so many recalls.

I would never purchase pre packaged  salads or fruit.

Yes! I the winter place unripe tomatoes in that bag with a ripe apple and your tomatoes will ripen.

This is true. Thank you for adding that.

I love organic fresh tomatoes on a greens salad. Add crumbled Feta.

If you cast the demons out of kale, it turns back into a piece of Romaine lettuce.

LOL that had me laughing!  I love Kale but do love Romaine more. Kale salad is good but not the prepackaged washed in chlorine so it does not spoil kind!
