These are both poetic passages; Ecclesiastes 12:1-7 is a beautiful poem about growing old and dying. "Then people go to their eternal home" (verse 5) is a poetic way of saying, "and then they die." Now we know that we have an eternal home with Jesus... Job 30:23 is talking about the inevitability of death - "the place appointed for all the living." He may or may not have a 'literal' place in mind. But in any case, Job is very depressed at this point, so there isn't much hopefulness in what he says! Both those people the live long time before the good news of the Gospel. They don't have any idea about the Messiah and the Savior, nothing about the Haevenly inheritance. They just say who the perceived things. But they did not speak in the name of Jesus. The disciples spoke with the Holy Spirit, but not they, they did not. At this time, those who die in Christ go to Heaven. Christ said before He returned to Heaven He would prepare a place, a mansion, for us in His Fathers house. John 14:2, In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. Look forward to it !
