However, as of now the US has more recoverable oil than either russia or saudia arabia (260+ barrels on the last estimate). Note, this is at current levels of technology and includes shale exploitation, which is more expensive, but not prohibitively so any longer. Shale exploitation in the US caused the oil market to nearly collapse in the past few years. As technology advances, the amount of recoverable oil in the US will increase drastically, as there is probably over a trillion barrels here in currently unrecoverable shale. This would a be a good, good thing as we could start to ignore the Middle East

Between our production and Canada, we really don't need oil from anyone..... and if the government will let the industry produce the oil found just off of Gull Island in Alaska we would need any oil from anyone for 400 years. Russia has all the oil they could ever use and they don't ignore it, neither do most other powerful nations.

Missiles with crooked nose cones, nose cones curving upward, don't fly well. The press said it looked as if they were fake. Not unusual for communist nations apparently. Reports today said there was another failed missile launch just recently. I don't think anyone will let north Korea get away with what is threatened by their leader. He's not that important to the axis of powers there. And when he threatens not to play nice against America and others, I'd think he's demonstrating he's more of a risk than an asset to those nations he thinks have his back. Time will tell. Yes, it will. China is beginning to rethink having an unstable, nuclear country right on their doorstep, IMO.
