Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. In the New Testament, the angel tells Mary to call her son Jesus. Luke 1:31 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. Is there a link between the meaning or significance of those names? Yes, there is. If you read in the book that precedes the book of Luke, the book of Matthew, chapter one verse 23: "The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" (which means "God with us").
