Unbelievers will be terrified and bewildered, unable to explain the phenomena that they witness, yet aware that something terrible is about to happen. But Christians will know what is going on: that Jesus is about to return, as He has promised. (Acts 1:11) It will be very different to His first coming. Then He was disguised in weakness and humility; but at His second coming He will be revealed in all His awesome majesty, as Lord and Judge. But we shall have nothing to fear. Jesus’ return is something that we look forward to with confidence and joy, because it will mean our final liberation from the power of sin and death.
