Classic gospel song tended to string together and say a definate statement. E.g. The vilest offender who truly believes ,that moment from Jesus a pardon receives I just heard a modern one on the radio check the lyrics- Primary singer. i need you to prophesy, prophesy through your body language'! I prefer the old hymns, although even some of them contain a confusing message if you really consider the words. The Old Rugged Cross is one that comes to mind, makes no sense at all. I hate it . Or At least the way we sing it at my church (very slow and dragging).when i told someone, the man said "Demons hate that song" So my questions are- 1. How does he know, does he have regular contact with demons and 2. Whats he trying to imply by that remark? 19 minutes ago, wingnut- said: Music talent is definitely lacking in many supposed "artists". Maybe what you should do is ask him what idolatry means to him? Cling to an old rugged cross? Not this guy, this guy will cling to the One who died on that cross. That's an interesting suggestion, but crucified to me is speaking to His death, not the object He was hung on. I just see the whole song as way off base, just my opinion. Backup singers-? I am just one praise away from my breakthrough ? WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN The first lyric you have there is from the song, To God Be The Glory . Quote To God Be The Glory Lyrics To God be the glory, great things He has done; So loved He the world that He gave us His Son, Who yielded His life an atonement for sin, And opened the life gate that all may go in. Refrain: Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the earth hear His voice! Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice! O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, And give Him the glory, great things He has done. O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood, To every believer the promise of God; The vilest offender who truly believes, That moment from Jesus a pardon receives. Refrain: Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the earth hear His voice! Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice! O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, And give Him the glory, great things He has done. Great things He has taught us, great things He has done, And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son; But purer, and higher, and greater will be Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see. What song contains the other lyrics you have written there? "i need you to prophesy, prophesy through your body language'!"

I was comparing the fact that-to God be the glory makes use of lyrics which have a point. The second one is nonsensical

Your post made it sound like that second lyric was an actual song lyric.
