1 John 5:13   "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

Key words: "know" and "have". both present-tense.

Praise God.

Assurance so simple that a child could understand it!  Oh, wait... I think I read that somewhere :)

Matthew 18:3-4 (NKJV) and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. 4 Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Key word: "Believe" as usual, the condition of "having eternal life" is in the present tense!

Praise God! We don't have to wonder at the half-truths of those that ignore the entire truth of the passage!

The wonderful word of "have" means that no matter when...1000 years ago or 1000 years from now they are valid for the very day they are heard or read. Meaningful for everyone, amen.

Jhn 3:36   “He who believes in the Son HAS everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

1Jo 5:11  And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

1Jo 5:12  Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

2Co 13:5  Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!

We need to find assurance of our salvation in God's truth and in God's word. God has told us if we genuinely ask Jesus Christ into our life and heart we are saved. We need to trust that. God wants us to have assurance of our salvation with no doubt.

The Joy of Salvation, is when you realize that God has created a relationship with you, through the Blood of Jesus, that once its applied to you, you cant undo it.

In other words, God in his infinite wisdom, created a means to be joined eternally to him that a born again person can't mess up.

You can mess up your fellowship with Him, and you can totally mess up your personal life, but that is ALL you can do.

However, regarding Salvation, God created it so that once its applied to you, you cant mess it up.

And its a good thing that He created it this way, as a human being would mess it up

The Joy of The Lord is......you cant..........as Salvation lasts on your behalf for as Long as God LIVES.

When a believer realizes that Salvation is not you holding onto God, but rather its God holding onto you........then THAT is a moment that will put a smile on your heart every time you think about it.

"Joy of the Lord"
