I don't want to kill anybody. Firstly, I didn't suggest that we institute the full range of every law and punishment from Leviticus in the legal system. I was mainly making the point that tailoring a system to mimic the behavioral standards that God set forth for Israel would probably have a fairly high likelihood of leading to a healthy and functional society.

If we made the 10 commandments the foundation of our legal system, it would transform the nation in some pretty amazing ways.

Then they should be willing to help you get a State law passed against sharia.......    go for it...

Why would we pass laws stopping something that is not happening?  Should I see how many Christians are will to help get a state to pass a law against the Mosaic law?  Seems that would be just as big a waste of time since nobody is trying to implement that either.

I think a fair argument could be made that at least the laws governing behavior in ancient israel were probably not a terrible idea if you want to have a healthy and functional society in place. I mean, after all, they were ordered by God.

Do you believe that such a thing should take place in the US?

(sigh)   I said they should be the foundation of our laws/legal system.   I didn't say that we should make coveting, adultery and using the Lord's name illegal and punishable by law.   I am speaking to the moral paradigm they represent.

most state laws already are.   At least here in Oklahoma.   It's even against the law to commit adultery here....

Our federal government I would agree Shiloh.....  but we were working on it....  anyone who thought draining the swamp would be quick and easy just doesn't have a good grip on reality.

What a horrible thought. Just as it was a horrible thing to live under the law of God in ancient Israel in its day.

Thank God we're Christians and not Jews! http://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/756399/jewish/The-613-Commandments.htm

Would you sell your raped daughter to her rapist to become his wife? Kill gays? Kill someone who works on the legally established days of Sabbath?
