And it's not just the Ds who want this, a few Rs do as well. My questions are simple: why does the government have to have it's big nose in our health care or health insurance? When do we, the people, get to vote on what WE want? https://www.yahoo.com/news/dems-rush-endorse-single-payer-healthcare-california-sounds-warning-170224275.html

They also have another control over the population for we go to them for all medical care.

Imagine what they could do. For instance, if they wanted to enact gun control, they could force a person to choose between giving up their guns or being denied a prescription they need to literally stay alive. If we go to single payer, there won't be enough money to go around to take care of everyone, not in a country this size.. So people who are more of a drag on the system will not get as much or may be denied altogether so that there is enough money for hte younger healthier, less expensive, or easier to cure members of the population. In socialism/Marxism, you're either a producer or a consumer. Older people who can't work often have more expensive health issues. Since they are not working, they are consumers. Why should the government pay thousands of $$$ for someone who is not contributing, when they could pay the same amount of money to heal a 30 year old who has at least another 40-50 years of employment and thus is a producer? It is more advantageous to heal the producer than the consumer in a Marxist/socialist utopia. Those who are too sick and/or too old to be producers are a drag on the system and need to be eliminated in a Marxist economy. Your value is solely tied to your ability to work and pay into the system.

It makes a huge mess of the existing healthcare system (because you can't bring in the new without destroying the old) then they trot out single payer to "save" us from the mess they made. That pretty much sums it up. What so many don't understand is that Single Payer, or National Health Care, brings with it an automatic limitation. Governments have budgets. Therefore single payer is automatically rationed care. There is only so much money to go around. We've seen an example of this in the case of that young boy in the UK their NHS wanted to pull the plug on against his parent's will. This is what happens when the gov't gets into your health care. I'll close with this: Anyone who wants to know what national health care would be like here in the US can ask members of several groups what its like. Ask a veteran who's on the VA system how long it takes to get an appointment. Or anyone on MediCare.

There is a reason people from other countries, even Canada, come HERE for major health care.

There is now a whole industry called medical tourism.
