I am not an advocate for eternal torment, and everyone there affected by the heat differently. My reading of all scripture informs me that sinners enter 'hell' together, after the second resurrection,  each one suffering according to their degree of guilt, until they are finally destroyed.

Destroyed? Oh no that is way too easy. They will suffer an eternal conscience punishment for an eternity. That is forever and ever never ending. They will be very aware of all they are going through. Some people would like to say that they will be destroyed but that is not what the bible tells us.

Then we must be reading different Bibles.

The wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23

Or someone is giving the words of the bible their own meaning and not taking scripture literally which is how God has intended for us to read those words.

I agree entirely. Literal death. Yes. So how do you reconcile a literal death with eternal life in hell?
