Guest
LOVELOCK, Nev. -- O.J. Simpson was granted parole Thursday after more than eight years in prison for a Las Vegas hotel heist, successfully making his case in a nationally televised hearing that reflected America's enduring fascination with the former football star. With the ruling, the 70-year-old Simpson, who was convicted in 2008 of an armed robbery involving two sports memorabilia dealers in a Las Vegas hotel room, could be out of prison as early as Oct. 1 after serving the minimum nine years of a 33-year sentence. When the final vote to grant parole was read after parole commissioners deliberated just over 30 minutes, Simpson lowered his head and then raised it up with a big smile. EDITOR'S PICKS Simpson's attorney, former guard trade barbs O.J. Simpson's attorney, Malcolm LaVergne, and former prison guard Jeffrey Felix traded barbs after the hearing Thursday. During a recess in the hearing, Simpson, LaVergne and another man were caught talking, presumably about Felix. How O.J. still made lots of NFL money in prison Here's our calculation of how much money Simpson has earned during his eight-plus years in prison -- potentially more than $600,000 -- which depends on the age in which Simpson elected to begin drawing from his NFL pension. "Thank you, thank you, thank you," an emotional Simpson said while his sister, Shirley Baker, wept and hugged Arnelle Simpson, his daughter. Then, as he was led down a hall, the former athlete raised his hands over his head in a victory gesture and said, "Oh, God, oh!" http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/20114132/parole-board-votes-release-oj-simpson-prison-october

Simpson cannot be held accountable fro a crime he was found not guilty of, no matter how much we all might think that he did it. When it came to parole for his armed robbery he should have been treated like every other person, which he was by all accounts. We should all be glad we live under such a legal system. Course it would be better if the prosecutors on a murder trial would prepare the State's case instead of going off on weekend trists together. I believe the fix was in on that trial. For no thinking prosecution team would have a defendent try on a shriveled bloody glove. At worst they would have tested first on another glove what the result of such an action would be. I think they did just that knew what it's result would be and then set up the test so that the jury that wanted to free him could do so.
