Bust of Racist Margaret Sanger to Remain

In all of this push to get rid of statues that allegedly commemorate America's "racist"  history, a bust of Margaret Sanger, a openly racist woman who made no secret of her hatred of African Americans is not going anywhere.    Sanger is the founder of Planned Parenthood and saw abortion as a tool to rid the world of what she considered an inferior race, namely African Americans.  Her plans were to abort all black babies and then sterilize black men and women so they could not reproduce and eventually bring about the extinction of the black race.  That was the original purpose for abortion; it had nothing to do with women's health.

Even so, her image will remain at the Smithsonian since abortion is a hallmark of liberalism, no matter how genuinely racist she was.  And the Liberals are okay with that.   The selective, and incoherent moral outrage of the Left is truly mind boggling.   Evidently, racism in the name of liberal principles is okay.

Well now here are the facts of that matter:

Margaret Sanger: She believed that while abortion was sometimes justified it should generally be avoided, and she considered contraception the only practical way to avoid them.In 1916 Sanger opened the first birth control clinic in the United States, which led to her arrest for distributing information on contraception.  She felt that in order for women to have a more equal footing in society and to lead healthier lives, they needed to be able to determine when to bear children. She also wanted to prevent so-called back-alley abortions which were common at the time because abortions were illegal in the United States.( you all think it will just go away if made illegal)  In New York City, she organized the first birth control clinic staffed by all-female doctors, as well as a clinic in Harlem with an all African-American advisory council, where African-American staff were later added.

Yep, the truth and the facts are often multi-faceted.  In all likelihood, Sanger was not the saint this article paints her to be nor the villainess her critics claim.

Quote

Although the eugenics movement included some who had racist ideas, wanting to create some sort of master race, "only a minority of eugenicists" ever believed this, according to Ruth Engs, professor emerita at the Indiana University School of Public Health and an expert in the movement.

'Painting with a broad brush' and 'guilty by association' is a bad thing.  Kind of like when media focal point David Duke* says nice things about Trump.  It doesn't mean Trump is a white supremacist. (except to those who rely on broad brush and guilt by association to smear those they oppose.)

Can Trump really control what Duke says or does?

Blessings,

-Ed

*I contend that David Duke is nothing more than an opportunist publicity hound who is more than happy to play the media foil to keep his name in the news.  Has he even been relevant in the last 25-30 years?

Here are some facts that actually tell the truth on the matter as opposed to some article from a  liberal rag.

"Minorities crammed into impoverished areas in inner cities should not be having so many babies. And, of course, these minorities (including most of America’s immigrants) are inferior in the human race, as are the physically and mentally handicapped. We should require mandatory sterilizations of those less desirable and promote easy access to abortion. And since sex should be a free-for-all, we must provide birth control and abortions to teenagers too. It’s all for the greater good and for a more intelligent, liberated, healthier population.

Feel a bit enraged by the sentiments above?

They absolutely sicken me.

If you are feeling squeamish or angry too, then you should call your representatives in Congress and demand an end to your tax dollars funding Planned Parenthood. You also can sign the petition at LiveAction.org.

For such are the foundational beliefs of this inherently racist organization and its celebrated founder, Margaret Sanger, who still is lauded on the Planned Parenthood website. Of course, in the lavish online praise of Sanger, conveniently absent is her advocacy for “a stern and rigid policy of sterilization and segregation to that grade of population whose progeny is already tainted, or whose inheritance is such that objectionable traits may be transmitted to offspring.” (The quote is from her article “A Plan for Peace.”) Or her promotion of the “American Baby Code,” in which she seeks to “protect society against the propagation and increase of the unfit.”

Also missing is Sanger’s fear of her racist views being exposed, as recorded in a 1939 letter to an ally: “We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population.” Which is exactly what she set out and succeeded in doing.

Planned Parenthood is largely the reason why black babies are aborted in America three times more often than white babies, and Hispanic preborns are killed 1½ times more often than whites. In fact, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention research compiled by TooManyAborted.com, “Abortion is the number one killer of black lives in the United States. More than HIV. More than heart disease. More than cancer. Abortion snuffs out more black lives than all other causes of death combined.”

Your "facts" came from a bias source. You are only accusing my source of being liberal because they depute your source.  My facts are just facts. Neither liberal or conservative.

Your source is also label as an ANALYSIS/OPINION:  opinions are not facts.

Those facts come from the Washington Times.   And it is not just the Washington times. If you want, I can cite all kinds of historical sources to back the truth that you don't want to face up to.

I haven't given any opinions at all.   Margaret Sanger was a racist and envisioned eugenics as a means of getting rid of the black race.   Her eugenics were adopted by Hitler for use in exterminating Jews.

Margaret Sanger didn't even like her own children.   She was an evil, evil woman, a spawn of the devil  and no one should sympathize or offer her any support.  Planned Parenthood is just wicked and satanic as Margaret Sanger was.

Since the Smithsonian is publicly owned it should be removed if we are erasing 'racist' history.

And so opinions over rule facts once again. Okay, I'm done now.

I don't think it can be argued, that whatever Sanger's motives were, supporting abortion is a horrendous thing to do. If we could but see all the bodies of all the helpless, unborn babies who have been mercilessly slaughtered, perhaps we'd think differently.

It has indeed been a "Holocaust" and one which continues. It's simply not as visible as all those atrocities committed by Nazi Germany, but it is no less real.

I do also believe, that if one does some careful research, one will realize that Margaret Sanger is not the hero and champion of women's rights that she is so often made out to be.
