The reason people go to Hell is because they have rejected the only way to Heaven, which is through Jesus Christ, God's Son.   It has nothing to do with disagreeing with Him.

Man is in rebellion against God and has been since the dawn of creation because of sin. 

Before God is love, God is holy and operates from a system of perfect justice.  In simple terms, it means that God hates sin and hates it absolutely.   God's perfect justice demands that sin be punished. 

God, in His mercy found a way to punish our sin and at the same time redeem us from sin.   He did this through His Son Jesus who paid the penalty of sin for us and satisfied God's justice when He died for us on the cross.  He took upon Himself the full weight of God's justice on our behalf and died for us essentially sacrificing himself in our place.   He paid the sin debt we owed.

God offers us full pardon and forgiveness solely on the basis of what Jesus did on the cross.   He offers it to us free and clear as gift of His mercy and grace.   We can escape Hell and eternal punishment by accepting the terms of redemption, namely that solely on the basis of Jesus'  merits and His sacrifice for our sins, we put our faith and trust in God, that we accept His free gift of salvation on basis of our faith and by His grace.

If God offers you that gift and you reject it and die in a state of continued separation from God knowing that you face an eternity in Hell, the consequences of spending eternity in Hell are the result of your own self-destructive, eternal decision.   God is not to blame because you were presented the path to salvation and you rejected it.
