They began way, way back and are recorded in the 'old testament' and the extra-canonical writings. This just begins to scratch the surface as follows: The 14th Nissan thru First-fruits is replaced by the Good Friday/Easter Sunday thing. Easter is an English mistranslation of the Pagan festival of a very close time proximity to The Passover. Constantine was A-religious and a very good negotiator. He sought to satisfy the pagans and the Christians along with the blessing of the then Roman powers. The Sabbath (God's Sabbath) was modified by Roman edict... and so on and so forth. Christ-Mass was thus similarly encouraged and became "the thing to do" in England in the 17-1800's. The Astoreth and pagan infant sacrifices were on the pagan time-table and coincide with their calendar that we Christians have never heard preached against. Though God repeatedly mentions about NOT letting your children pass thru the fire. First the pagan priests make the virgins pregnant. Then they birth them nine months later. Then they sacrifice them, and then the Yule pig thingy and the cycle repeats. Horrible. [there is much historical documentation of this]. So to get the Christians to follow this cycle in the mad belief that Easter bunnies and eggs hidden in church graveyards somehow whitewashes all for the X-mass timetable is a travesty. Christianity did NOT de-paganise this timetable. All that happened was a watering down of truth so that now most Christians hold fast to the Good Friday thru Sunday [erroneous] "Easter" time-table. If Yeshuah was NOT in the grave three whole days and nights - what else has been sacrificed for contemporary expediency?? There is a whole lot more to this than at first meets the eye... Much, much more!

There are numerous definitions of the word "grave", what is your understanding when you referred to the "grave", and Jesus Christ.

Dead three days and three nights and Jonas was in the belly of the great fish... same time frame. Rose on the Sabbath. Sabbath = the weekly Sabbath, not to be confused with the earlier 14-15th Nissan Sabbath of the Unleavened bread Just Prior to or in conjunction with the Passover meal.
