The invasion by the Turks While this doesn’t have the most exciting graphics this short clip does show the incredible speed at which the seven churches were swallowed up by the Turkish empire. Pretty much within 10 years after the Romans were defeated at Manzikert almost all of Anatolia was flooded by Turks. The Greek civilization that had existed there for over 1000 years was destroyed.
