There's only one that irks me a bit.  "God won't give you more than you can handle" It has become like fingernails on a chalkboard to me at this point in my life. Mainly because it's so incredibly untrue - God gives us more than we can handle at times because it makes us see our need for Him. The honest statement is God won't give you more than HE can handle lol I could tell you story after story from my own life that prove He definitely gave me more than I could personally handle - and but never once has He given me more than HE could handle.

Anyway. :)

What is the worst thing a Christian can say to you when you're feeling down ?

I'm asking because I've encountered many instances in my own life when I was down and when I approached a Christian, many of them would say "God knows what I am going through".

Really?  That's it ?

How is that supposed to make me feel better ??

Have any of you received the same kind of advise/response, and how did that make you feel ?

That would be a perfectly fine response on many occasions. Not everyone knows all the details. At least they are making the effort and not acting like nothing happened! This is often used when the person does not know anything about what's going and still tries to make the other person feel better. God does know exactly what everyone is going through.

Are you a praying woman? Are you a born again Christian?

Not sure whether those questions are directed at me, but Yes.

I'm most definitely a praying , born again Christian.

It's not the actual advice. It's the how.  I'll just be randomly doing something at church and a particular  older man gives me a lecture  quoting scripture and then ends it off with..Look for a wife.  .Doeant ask about my spiritual condition but just tells me get one. As if I'm single cause Im refusing to get married or something and I need him to make me realise I need to. If u not seeing someone u interested in What are u to do? Settle for anyone?

Women need not marry unless they so choose.   Something for men in general to think about, eh? It's just the other side of the coin to be explored.
