Yes. there is nothing to argue about in APOSTLES CREED

it may go way back to 100 AD - coming out of THE OLD ROMAN SYMBOL

Chi Rho I never heard of -- Old Roman Symbol was an earlier, shorter version of Apostles Creed

The Chi Rho is a X and P cross that Constantine The Great is said to have seen at the Battle of Milvan Bridge.

Fidei, I'm both amazed at your knowledge of all this and I admire it. Can I ask if you're a collage professor and if you aren't how did you learn all this?

It is my understanding that the Apostles Creed did not reach its final form until the sixth century. The Athanasian Creed was earlier and was written by someone thoroughly immersed in Greek philosophy for people who were also familiar with Greek thought. I am a very well educated Christian and I find it almost incomprehensible. Generally I find creeds to have been written primarily to exclude those horrible heretics rather than inform the faithful.

I love the creeds. The Apostles Creed is perfect because it really puts straightforward the basics of the faith. My 1 graders and up know it by heart.
