The Oriental Orthodox and Ethiopian Orthodox Churches broke away from Eastern Orthodoxy (Eastern Orthodox Church). I have opened this topic for Jude 1:3 to tell us more. :)

Here is short snippet I found on Oriental, "The primary theological difference between the two communions is the differing Christology. Oriental Orthodoxy rejects the Chalcedonian Definition, and instead adopts the Miaphysite formula, believing that the human and divine natures of Christ are united. Historically, the early prelates of the Oriental Orthodox churches thought that the Chalcedonian Definition implied a possible repudiation of the Trinity or a concession to Nestorianism." (Wikipedia).

Thanks for making this Thread.

Here's some info that I posted about The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church  :

The Ethiopians had ties to Judaism through Queen Sheba and King Solomon.(1 Kings 10)

The first Ethiopian Christian is recorded in Acts 8:26-38 when the Ethiopian Eunuch is baptized by Phillip.

According to Wikipedia they were administratively part of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria from the first half of the 4th century until 1959.

I am very interested in Ethiopian Church, since as you shared it has roots in the Eunuch and Philip in Book of Acts.

I genuinely believe that this is why they have 1 Enoch as part of their Canon of Scriptures because they have a Pre Christian Connection to Judaism and The Temple through Queen Sheba and also the Eunuch in Acts 8.

The Ethiopian Church did not use a lot of discrimination in gathering early writings, many of which were were pseudoepigraphal and are rejected by Roman and Orthodox churches as well as Protestantism due to late dates and gnostic influences..    While I have an interest in Church history, is am really only beginning to learn more about it.
