And the fear of hell is an unknown. Hell is portrayed as a place for fallen angels and those that do not choose THE LIGHT of MEN; Yeshua; Jesus; the WORD. The Lord puts many things in the way of the unsaved to make them think. He wants you to chose LIFE and not death. LIFE is something of an antithesis to Hell. So if we are choosing the darker paths of earthly life, sometimes it brings us face to face with hell, so we might reconsider and go for LIFE. Sometimes what we really fear is the loss of 'freedom' that is seen as a detrimental component of being saved. "What shall I have to give up..?" is the fear of loosing self to something unknown and therefore to be feared. In hell, you will have absolutely nothing but hopeless regrets. Fear itself is a bad place to be because all is colored by it and sometimes then we cannot think straight. I tend to think that most people, prior to believing on the THE LORD, are fearful of what He would demand. They forget what He might give. So to be quite plain. Fear of God is the solution to a fear of hell. It is of some wisdom that any saint have fear of hell. For that fear propels a saint toward testimony of Jesus' sacrifice that redeems fully all that bow a knee to Him as Lord God and savior. Jesus who is God the son has conquered death. He has provided cover in His blood that spares the saint from the wrath of God the Father. There is no eternal condemnation for anyone covered, washed white as snow, in the shed blood of our Lord. The fear then is for all that have not yet received the specific call from the Holy Spirit and have not yet become aware of their repentance from sin against God. The saint is to give testimony as a witness to the Glory that is God, God to rightfully be feared.
