What God has done, is to lead me first to Job whose plights,Ā I can identify with, though my own have been no where near as severe. God revealed himself to me via theĀ Book of Job as led by God theĀ Holy Spirit. Ā IĀ also can identify with andĀ be greatly encouraged in reading David as Ā theĀ palmist, loving deeply theĀ 23 psalm forĀ it's personal meaning Ā and useful application to my own life and well Ā being. I can relate to being bitter about trying to witness to certain people and thinking i can't wait till they get what's coming to them. And also his feelings of self loathing. And running from God.

While Mary was able to sit at Jesus' feet, Mary was keeping herself busy with what needed to be done. I think this is probably a stage in life as a mother. I often see people sitting and relaxing when we do have company over and wonder how it is possible that they can relax when there is so much that needs to be done. Peter - because I've been known to be angry. Thomas - because I've had my share of doubts. Jonah - because I've sat under that tree and complained about what He asked me to do. Martha - who was working working working instead of resting and worshipping. The woman at the well - because after I met Him I ran and told everyone I could find. Mary - because I've finally learned the importance of sitting at His feet.Ā Ā
Guest
Prior to being saved, I was like many of the people of the Bible... Peterās reactive personality, Thomasā wanting proof, Paulās persecution ofĀ Ā Christians, and the demon-possessed man(only because of numerous vices and flaws)... Ā A few years back, I took an assessment that matched me to John because of his personality and prophetic calling. Ā Very thought-provoking question. Ā I think that however we may see our reflection in scripture, it shows us that God has considered us in our weaknesses as well as our strengths.
