(Worthy News) - A fresh battle in the Republican civil war flared Thursday as former President George W. Bush took veiled shots at President Trump in a speech that warned against the rising tide of ethno-nationalism on the Right.

Bush sounded the alarm about "nationalism distorted into nativism," chiding that American identity "is not determined by geography or ethnicity, by soil or blood." He cautioned against the siren song of isolationism. The 43rd president never mentioned Trump.

But in issuing a clarion call for the conservative ideals of Ronald Reagan Republicanism, Bush was unmistakably rebuking the "America First" sloganeering of a 45th president who has questioned the value of U.S. internationalism and been accused of winking at white-identity politics. The man who got us into two unnecessary wars needs to just be quiet and go back to Crawford and just stick to his painting.   He was silent for 8 years as Obama and the Democrats raped this country with his far left policies.

"Nativism" is used to claim that Trump is anti-immigration, when all Trump has opposed are those who come here as illegal aliens and he wants to put an end to it.

LOL,  This is just another example of the kind of dishonest spin we always see on the left.   Trump has never said or done anything to make the American identity based on geography or ethnicity, soil or blood.   Nothing in any of his speeches even suggest such a thing.   Two of his children married Jews and his grandchildren will be raised as Jews, he is married to a legal immigrant.   America first is not isolationism.   He is simply not going to  sell America down river to the rest of the world in the name of Globalism.

Globalism wants a world without borders.  Globalism has as its ultimate goal a one-world government and stands against American sovereignty and has been trying to make the US like a third-world nation.   It's why we are adopting a third-world, socialist healthcare system that will keep Americans poor and sick.

Jesse Jackson, a man I disagree with 99.9 percent of the time, did say something at the 2000 democrat convention that was very wise:

"Stay out da Bushes!!"

I've never trusted the Bush family, and I never will.

That is probably true of anyone who speaks poorly of Trump.

No, it is true of those who dishonestly criticize Trump, as occurs regularly on this board.

I don't think that President Trump has former President Bush mad at him anymore than he may have already been.  I don't know if you remember, but during the campaign, Trump said Bush didn't keep us safe and referred to 9-11.  He said a lot of things during the campaign in order to win that angered his political opponents.  I really think the former President has moved past that.  What is taking place is you are seeing differences of opinion over globalism verses nationalism.  It was his Father that mentioned the new world order.  The former President is seeing us move away from that and back towards nationalism, and he doesn't agree with it.  I have always been a nationalist.  I was a supporter of Patrick Buchanan before Trump, and voted for him in the GOP Primaries in 1992 and 1996.  I preferred him when he ran for President on the Reform Party in 2000, but knew he couldn't win so I wound up voting for Bush to stop Gore.

As far as the speech goes, I am not worried about veiled anything.  If he isn't going to come out and mention Trump by name, but only insinuate things, I will just ignore him.  I am looking at two visions for this nation's future, one towards globalism and one towards nationalism.  I am on the side of nationalism.  Former Presidents making speeches won't have any real influence on anyone.  It just helps endear them to fellow establishment politicians and globalists.  It goes back to something I said in another thread.  We are all being forced to take sides.  I am clearly taking the side of standing with other America First patriots over the New World Order.

No - I clearly stated that I do not trust the Bush family.  My distrust goes all the way back to GHW Bush and has nothing to do with Trump.

The world did not begin with Mr. Trump, and it will not end with him.

Sorry.

Blessings,

I have always known who the Bush family was, and I voted for George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush as the lesser of two evils.  I really did the same thing with Donald Trump, but he has turned out to be a great President so far, much better than I ever thought possible.
