Would not that land be greatly polluted? But you have played the harlot with many lovers; Yet return to Me," says the LORD. (2) "Lift up your eyes to the desolate heights and see: Where have you not lain with men? By the road you have sat for them Like an Arabian in the wilderness; And you have polluted the land With your harlotries and your wickedness. (3) Therefore the showers have been withheld, And there has been no latter rain. You have had a harlot's forehead; You refuse to be ashamed. (4) Will you not from this time cry to Me, 'My Father, You are the guide of my youth? (5) Will He remain angry forever? Will He keep it to the end?' Behold, you have spoken and done evil things, As you were able." (6) The LORD said also to me in the days of Josiah the king: "Have you seen what backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and there played the harlot. (7) And I said, after she had done all these things, 'Return to Me.' But she did not return. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it. (8) Then I saw that for all the causes for which backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a certificate of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear, but went and played the harlot also. (9) So it came to pass, through her casual harlotry, that she defiled the land and committed adultery with stones and trees. (10) And yet for all this her treacherous sister Judah has not turned to Me with her whole heart, but in pretense," says the LORD. (11) Then the LORD said to me, "Backsliding Israel has shown herself more righteous than treacherous Judah. (12) Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say: 'Return, backsliding Israel,' says the LORD; 'I will not cause My anger to fall on you. For I am merciful,' says the LORD; 'I will not remain angry forever. (13) Only acknowledge your iniquity, That you have transgressed against the LORD your God, And have scattered your charms To alien deities under every green tree, And you have not obeyed My voice,' says the LORD. (14) "Return, O backsliding children," says the LORD; "for I am married to you. I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion. (15) And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding. (16) "Then it shall come to pass, when you are multiplied and increased in the land in those days," says the LORD, "that they will say no more, 'The ark of the covenant of the LORD.' It shall not come to mind, nor shall they remember it, nor shall they visit it, nor shall it be made anymore. (17) "At that time Jerusalem shall be called The Throne of the LORD, and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem. No more shall they follow the dictates of their evil hearts. (18) "In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given as an inheritance to your fathers. (19) "But I said: 'How can I put you among the children And give you a pleasant land, A beautiful heritage of the hosts of nations?' "And I said: 'You shall call Me, "My Father," And not turn away from Me.' (20) Surely, as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, So have you dealt treacherously with Me, O house of Israel," says the LORD. (21) A voice was heard on the desolate heights, Weeping and supplications of the children of Israel. For they have perverted their way; They have forgotten the LORD their God. (22) "Return, you backsliding children, And I will heal your backslidings." "Indeed we do come to You, For You are the LORD our God. (23) Truly, in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, And from the multitude of mountains; Truly, in the LORD our God Is the salvation of Israel. (24) For shame has devoured The labor of our fathers from our youth—Their flocks and their herds, Their sons and their daughters. (25) We lie down in our shame, And our reproach covers us. For we have sinned against the LORD our God, We and our fathers, From our youth even to this day, And have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God." (52) Bear your disgrace, you also, for you have intervened on behalf of your sisters. Because of your sins in which you acted more abominably than they, they are more in the right than you. So be ashamed, you also, and bear your disgrace, for you have made your sisters appear righteous. (53) "I will restore their fortunes, both the fortunes of Sodom and her daughters, and the fortunes of Samaria and her daughters, and I will restore your own fortunes in their midst, (54) that you may bear your disgrace and be ashamed of all that you have done, becoming a consolation to them. (42) The sound of a carefree multitude was with her; and with men of the common sort, drunkards were brought from the wilderness; and they put bracelets on the hands of the women, and beautiful crowns on their heads. (43) "Then I said of her who was worn out by adultery, Now they will continue to use her for a whore, even her! (44) For they have gone in to her, as men go in to a prostitute. Thus they went in to Oholah and to Oholibah, lewd women! (45) But righteous men shall pass judgment on them with the sentence of adulteresses, and with the sentence of women who shed blood, because they are adulteresses, and blood is on their hands." (46) For thus says the Lord GOD: "Bring up a vast host against them, and make them an object of terror and a plunder. (47) And the host shall stone them and cut them down with their swords. They shall kill their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses. (48) Thus will I put an end to lewdness in the land, that all women may take warning and not commit lewdness as you have done. There is much to be said but nothing can be learned if God's people can't even acknowledge scripture in this regard. Please body.. Look at the evidence. Maybe this truth is not meant for the Gentiles? I pray that the true seekers will have their eyes opened to see His word. I'll keep posting scriptures... There are so many.. (21) Yet I planted you a choice vine, wholly of pure seed. How then have you turned degenerate and become a wild vine? (22) Though you wash yourself with lye and use much soap, the stain of your guilt is still before me, declares the Lord GOD. (23) How can you say, ‘I am not unclean, I have not gone after the Baals’? Look at your way in the valley; know what you have done— a restless young camel running here and there, (24) a wild donkey used to the wilderness, in her heat sniffing the wind! Who can restrain her lust? None who seek her need weary themselves; in her month they will find her. (25) Keep your feet from going unshod and your throat from thirst. But you said, ‘It is hopeless, for I have loved foreigners, and after them I will go.’ (26) “As a thief is shamed when caught, so the house of Israel shall be shamed: they, their kings, their officials, their priests, and their prophets, (27) who say to a tree, ‘You are my father,’ and to a stone, ‘You gave me birth.’ For they have turned their back to me, and not their face. But in the time of their trouble they say, ‘Arise and save us!’ (28) But where are your gods that you made for yourself? Let them arise, if they can save you, in your time of trouble; for as many as your cities are your gods, O Judah. (29) “Why do you contend with me? You have all transgressed against me, declares the LORD. (30) In vain have I struck your children; they took no correction; your own sword devoured your prophets like a ravening lion. (31) And you, O generation, behold the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness to Israel, or a land of thick darkness? Why then do my people say, ‘We are free, we will come no more to you’? (32) Can a virgin forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? Yet my people have forgotten me days without number. (33) “How well you direct your course to seek love! So that even to wicked women you have taught your ways. (34) Also on your skirts is found the lifeblood of the guiltless poor; you did not find them breaking in. Yet in spite of all these things (35) you say, ‘I am innocent; surely his anger has turned from me.’ Behold, I will bring you to judgment for saying, ‘I have not sinned.’ (36) How much you go about, changing your way! You shall be put to shame by Egypt as you were put to shame by Assyria. (37) From it too you will come away with your hands on your head, for the LORD has rejected those in whom you trust, and you will not prosper by them. Thus says the Lord GOD to the mountains and the hills, to the ravines and the valleys: Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places. (4) Your altars shall become desolate, and your incense altars shall be broken, and I will cast down your slain before your idols. (5) And I will lay the dead bodies of the people of Israel before their idols, and I will scatter your bones around your altars. (6) Wherever you dwell, the cities shall be waste and the high places ruined, so that your altars will be waste and ruined, your idols broken and destroyed, your incense altars cut down, and your works wiped out. (7) And the slain shall fall in your midst, and you shall know that I am the LORD. (8) “Yet I will leave some of you alive. When you have among the nations some who escape the sword, and when you are scattered through the countries, (9) then those of you who escape will remember me among the nations where they are carried captive, how I have been broken over their whoring heart that has departed from me and over their eyes that go whoring after their idols. And they will be loathsome in their own sight for the evils that they have committed, for all their abominations. (10) And they shall know that I am the LORD. I have not said in vain that I would do this evil to them.” (11) Thus says the Lord GOD: “Clap your hands and stamp your foot and say, Alas, because of all the evil abominations of the house of Israel, for they shall fall by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence. (12) He who is far off shall die of pestilence, and he who is near shall fall by the sword, and he who is left and is preserved shall die of famine. Thus I will spend my fury upon them. (13) And you shall know that I am the LORD, when their slain lie among their idols around their altars, on every high hill, on all the mountaintops, under every green tree, and under every leafy oak, wherever they offered pleasing aroma to all their idols. (14) And I will stretch out my hand against them and make the land desolate and waste, in all their dwelling places, from the wilderness to Riblah.
