Bible Trivia questions

Recommended Posts

I bought a Bible Trivia book  yesterday and there are sections in the books with different questions about different topics, how much do you and I know about the Bible?

I will ask the questions by topics, one question at the time and will post another one when the question is answered.

Hopefully, we learn more  together  what is in  the Bible :)

The first chapter we do is Laughers and Dancers :

Question 1: Whose entrancing dance proved fatal for John the Baptist?

Herod was told by John that he was sinning by taking the sister in law in marriage. Herodius' dances and the King offered up to half his kingdom because he was pleased (and probably drunk). The mother asked her to request John's head on a platter. So John was killed.

In the gospel accounts, Herod Antipas held a party in Galilee for the senior men. The daughter of his new wife, Herodias, entranced him with her dancing

Luke 15:25-32King James Version (KJV)

25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.

26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.

27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.

29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:

30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.

32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

OH. Sorry. I though you wished more on the death of John.

Nehemiah 2:18-19New International Version (NIV)

18 I also told them about the gracious hand of my God on me and what the king had said to me.

They replied, “Let us start rebuilding.” So they began this good work.

19 But when Sanballat the Horonite, Tobiah the Ammonite official and Geshem the Arab heard about it, they mocked and ridiculed us. “What is this you are doing?” they asked. “Are you rebelling against the king?”
