The phrase

if indeed we share...

implies that this is the condition to be a heir. do you agree?

Romans 8:17 "And if children heirs also; on the one hand, heirs of God; an the other hand, joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him that we also may be glorified with Him."

My answer is, no. The condition of being a heir is not the suffering, but being children.

Galatians 4:7 says, "So then you are no longer a slave but a son; and if a son, an heir also through God."

Also Titus 3:7: "In order that having been justified by His grace, we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life."

Let me re-phrase that a little bit. I realize that I was not exactly clear. On the one hand we are heirs of God by virtue of our sonship. On the other hand, because we are joint heirs with Christ, there is the condition of suffering.
