Draw near and comfort them in spirit and bless those who work to provide them with shelter, food and friendship. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen

And prayer in action is giving when I come across those less fortunate. Buying them a meal at a local eatery. Giving them the few dollars in my pocket. Stashed there for just such an encounter. Be an answer to the prayers of the homeless too.

Give money to charitable organizations who work to help them off the streets and provide food and essentials. It should become immediately obvious, as soon as we ask God to provide them shelter, food, and friendship, that we are capable of helping with these things in most circumstances. (I say "most" so that no one responds with something like, "What about the single mom working 3 jobs and spending all her money caring for her kids?" That person probably can't do much besides pray, but most of us can.)
