IF a person is taught by JESUS, they can use any translation and JESUS will still tell them the TRUTH: (ALWAYS) , YAHWEH is the ONE WHO IS ABLE to remove the veil (the veil that prevents understanding), ONE WHO IS ABLE to GRANT UNDERSTANDING and with GREAT PLEASURE DOES for little children. ONE WHO IS ABLE to hide the TRUTH, to hide everything concerning SALVATION, and with GREAT PLEASURE DOES, for those HE says HE does in HIS WORD. That is not true these days and is kind of naive. Type in a verse and you get 20 (or thereabouts) different translations. Great tool in discussions like this one. There you are. That is translation shopping without having to exert a lot of energy. Tyndale - New Testament - First printed in Engliish in 1526 Abstayne from all suspicious thinges. Coverdale 1535 Abstayne from all suspicious thinges. The Great Bible 1539 - First "Authorized Bible" Abstayne from all evell appearaunce. Geneva Bible - 1560 22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. The Bishop's Bible - 1568 22 Abstayne from all aooearaunce of evyll. There is pretty much the history of the rendition of that verse in English, prior to the King James, which is mostly a revision of the Bishop's Bible. So, it wasn't as though the King James, just "got it wrong" and suddenly introduced the concept of "appearance of evil". What I find curious, is why after 68 pages, people have not just agreed to disagree, and move on, but, it is your lives! see http://www.bibles-online.net/
