Before Adam, people were just animals that did not die, becasue in God's reality, people were never actually living. How was the Garden of Eden "weird?" God walked beside Adam, for one. That is rare on earth. And there was a Tree of life, and one of knowledge, a talking serpent, warm temperatures I guess, no rain, and a couple other odd things. Walking beside God, is the big one.
