21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Cuase most that call on him with their mouth yet work their inquity KNOW HIM NOT .   IF we are truly OF HIM , we learn to walk as HE DID.

this is why many will hear , LORD did we not do many wonderful works in YOIUR NAME and in YOUR NAME cast out demons and IN YOUR NAME etc

Depart from me, YE who worked....................I     N     Q     U     I     T     Y    >>>

But if while we SEEK to be justified BY FAITH we ourselves are FOUND SINNERS , is Christ the minisitir of sin . GOD FORIBD

NOPE if we build again those things which once we destroyed ,    WE MAKE OURSELVES TRANSGRESSORS.      JESUS don't lead us in darkness, HE LEAD US IN LIGHT.

For of WHOM a man is overcome is he brought into bondage

A man is servant to WHOM he obeys , whether of sin unto death or OBEDIANCE unto righteousness.

LET all who name the name of Christ depart from iniquity .   THOSE who are Christs have crucified the affections and lusts of the flesh.

FOLLOW the SPIRIT and you WILL NOT fulfill the lusts of the flesh.  CONTINUE FOLLWOING HIM to the end.  FOR IT IS HE within ,working that which is well pleasing in HIS SIGHT

and sin aint .  HE DONT WORK THAT , the flesh does.  THUS OBEY THE SPIRIT , NOT THE FLESH.   amen .

Matthew 7:21

It means that all those who are counterfeit Christians and not born again Christians will not enter heaven.

It also means those keeping the Lord's commandments. Are doing his will. He said love one another and believe in the name of Jesus.

A person performing miracles or using Christian vocabulary isn't a proof that one is true Christian. People can say Lord and not really mean it. That is lip service. People can attend church and read a bible, and still not be a true Christian. Just doing these things without putting true faith in Jesus' life, and death on the cross and truly trusting him to save them. makes them mere rituals. Often people think that if they attend church every Sunday, sing Christian songs and read the bible... all is well. There are people that like the religious leaders of bible times, just follow a set of rituals thinking their rituals or good works is all they need. That is self righteousness. They are righteous in their own eyes.

The passage calls this wrong because these things rely on mans ability to get into heaven. Relying on man's own abilities is sinful. For God's word says we can't save ourselves from sin and death. We begin to truly know him when we fully and truly believe in who Jesus is and his work on the cross for us. Admitting that we are sinful and helpless to save ourselves and in need of a savior. And fellowshipping with him. This is the only way to get right with God.

It is Gods will that we call on the name of Jesus Christ to save us from sin and death

John 6 :29 Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."

[for me anyway] the Lord Jesus Christ is instructively warning us plain and clear, Yes "us" as in professing Christians, for it is only us that call Jesus Christ Lord, and none other.  Many falsely believe He is speaking to other than "us", and are deceiving their own selves.

As I see it it is not enough to say, admit, believe. We are expected to do, to act, to put our faith into practice.

Keep in mind also the false prophet/and fruit measurement context immediately prior. See also 2Pt Ch2 on false prophets, particularly 2:20-22 and how these once knew Christ.

There are people who think they are saved, the false prophets particularly might once knew God (see 2Pt 2:20-22), even have miracles to show... but again become entangled in the world and fell away.

Believing Jesus is the "Christ" doesn't save demons: Luke 4:41. Lived out faith/belief is saving (See Jacob/James 2).

Romans 10:5-13 is not so much a formula of saying "Lord" and being saved, but getting at an alignment of your heart and mouth (10:10). So these are saying "Lord", but their heart is far from Him. They do not know God, proven by their 'lawlessness'. For one who knows God walks as law-keepers (Rom 3:31, 8:4).

Mat_22:14  For many are called, but few are chosen.

Pro_16:25  There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
