indeed, i never said excessive drinking was good for you. theres no doubt that excessive drinking is bad for you. what I said was, the article attributing it to cancer is bad science. Especially when theres ample evidence, including Biblical, to suggest that drinking in moderation can actually be healthy for you.

Well, the facts are based on research. The problem with "healthy" drinking is many have taken it beyond that. Then it is not healthy.

You do realize that in your statement there your actually contradicting the article? The article says one glass-thats far from excessive.

Like I said it was a research. I had nothing to do with the research. Take it as you want. Everyone is going to have a different opinion on this.

That's fine, I'm just saying it's poorly done research that borders on pure speculation.

and yet theres drunkards that live to age 90.....have you ever noticed, pretty much everything "can cause cancer" according to the state of  california? well, that leads to two logical conclusions, either they have no clue what theyre talking about, or the state of california causes cancer. You decide. But it most certainly isnt alcohol.

I'll go with the State of California causes cancer.  ROFL!!!  That's rich.  I needed that.  Thanks.

I guess it is less risky, if you don't live longer than 33 years. Too bad no one has educated all of the people in europe,  who have daily wine (Mediterranean diet) and typically outlive those of us in the U.S. I also tend to think, that the Bible erred when it suggested spending tithe money on wine or strong drink, to bad the did not know about the cancer thing.

That of course was sarcasm. I would not be surprised, if excess alcohol is connected with many maladies, even cancer, but I doubt somewhat, that moderate consumption is so much. I would want to know about other variables of diet and lifestyle, before jumping to conclusions. However, I admit, that I did not read the article.

Many  if not nearly all scientists state with  a sense of absolute certainty that there is no God too.

So much for scientific methodology.

Y'll let me know when the wine and spirits debate is done, so we can all toast it's death,  ya hear? Thanks.

As for me I found my responsibilities grew as I progressed through life  eventually making me turn from being a frequently high  flier to a walk'n stone sober individual.

But;  for many  it may  not the case, and whether they buy by the case or simply take a shot is  of little concern to me, except that they might  drive under the infuence of alcohol, or worse pilot an aircraft, or even worse make a decision to go to war with a nation, or worse....

Gee maybe  being stone sober is a good thing regardless of the long term health benefits or ills. Well bottoms up with a cup of coffee and a sip of Slimfast. Whooie!
