The point of this thread is to show the Sabbath is not on Saturday or Sunday but it is actually lunar and therefore:

1. Educate the body of Christ that any arguments over whether Saturday or Sunday is the Sabbath is completely void and stop this particular debate.

2. Shows that any denomination whether Catholic, protestant or SDA etc that they have the wrong day completely and therefore should not believe they do thus squashing any pride that have about it which would be a good thing for all.

3. For Jews and Muslims to also recognise this and understand when God really says the day of rest is.

4. For the body of Christ to know when the real Sabbath is so that they can, if they wish, honour God on the Sabbath.

4a. For anyone who already is trying to honour God on the Sabbath to actually do this on the right day, which is technically needed in order to uphold the 4th commandment.

5. For Christians to recognise how God's Calendar will be used in the rebuilt temple in Jerusalem when they will need it in order to sacrifice on the right days.

6. For some Christians to not be confused that Sunday is the mark of the beast as Saturday is as equally bad if they think Saturday is the right day (SDA's et al do this) .

If we trace the Sabbath using our familiar Gregorian/Julian calendars we get all the way back to Friday 1st of January 45BC which was the very first day of the new Roman Julian 7 day week calendar but the days before this date were calculated using the ancient Roman calendar that had an 8 day week, where the days were named A,B,C,D,E,F,G & H (8 days) and which had been used for hundreds years. Here's a picture of it written in stone:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_calendar

Meanwhile over a 1000 miles away in Israel the Israelites had of course been using using there own separate 7 day week calendar for hundreds of years prior to the Roman people (and their calendars) even existing. This means the Roman Julian 7 day week created in 45BC and the Israelite 7 day week going all the way back to creation are totally separate and therefore the Sabbath can not be calculated using our modern Julian/Gregorian calendar. This can be hard to understand but it makes perfect sense once you do.

The evidence is clear that the lunar Sabbath was gradually lost to history starting 70AD when the diaspora began to 359AD when Hillel II created the modern Jewish calendar and simply allowed the new Roman Julian 7 day rolling week to be used. This was because the Jews throughout the Roman Empire had been using the new Roman Julian 7 day rolling week for many generations before 359AD as it was by then the predominant calendar in use; And also because the lunar Sabbath could not be calculated as the Jews had been banned from living Jerusalem ever since the Simon Bar Kokhba revolt in 132AD, which meant they could no longer sight the new moon from Jerusalem and therefore could not know when each month really began and thus could not even know when the lunar Sabbaths really were. In addition in 321AD the Roman Emperor Constantine changed the day of rest from Saturday to Sunday thus causing even further confusion as to when the Sabbath really is.

If you want to know when the Sabbath really is please read either of these links:

Irrelevant. Paul says that one person may observe the Sabbath on this day and another on that day, but that the Sabbath was whatever day one chooses to make it as it is every day when we rest upon the Lord Jesus.

Sabbath this, Sabbath that ... caramba, talk about straining at a gnat. (Hey, that kind of rhymes! :))

Anyway, I suppose everyone needs a hobby ... even something as stultifying (to me) as this.

Why ?  This is not how Jews or Christians observed the Sabbath in the last 2000 to 4000 years . (except maybe for some small isolated? groups here or there)

i.e. what group (name)  are you trying to follow ?

I am unclear as to why you need two separate threads to promote the same two websites.

Are you saying that the Sabbath is some kind of rolling occurrence because of this calendar and can occur on different days of the week?

this second thread was partly my doing cobalt...   the first one didn't really get into why he was posting the thread and I assumed it was just another SDA thing and I was giving him some grief....   so he decided to start another one and start out that he isn't pushing the Sabbath, but instead showing that the arguments of Saturday and Sunday are really mute for the real Sabbath depends on the lunar cycles....   the ancient Israelites reset their days of the week to the lunar new moon and that shifts every year.

and that's really not a bad thing to point out...

just one more thing you can throw up to the SDA people.....      and I find it hard to say things against knowledge.

No.  He could have posted an addendum in the other thread because this thread is a carbon copy of the earlier one with the same exact articles.  I am beginning to wonder if this is a paid endorsement.  He's doing the same thing here that he did in the other thread.  Restrict the way the subject is discussed.  That is not on you.

everyone including me has been treating him as pushing the Sabbath......   that he isn't is what he's having trouble getting across to people.

Hi When Is Jesus Coming?

In answer to your `name` Jesus is coming when the Father sends Him....(Acts 3: 20) and that is very soon for Him to receive His Body unto Himself  - Head connects to His Body.

Now as to the Sabbath. We know from God`s word that Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath and for us as believers our `Sabbath,` is our `rest` in Him, not doing fleshly works but resting in His Holy Spirit doing the work through us. He gets the glory and we are blessed in the process.

`And God rested on the 7th day from all His works,....`They shall not enter my rest.` ...because of disobedience....There remains a rest (Sabbath) for the people of God. For he who has entered his rest has himself ceased from his works as God did from His.` (Heb. 4: 4 - 10)

Marilyn.

Why would lunar cycles make a difference? Wasn't the pattern set in Genesis, 6 days on and 1 day off... equals cycles of 7, nothing lunar about that.

did you read what he has posted?
