Don't think I would bake it. Probably just toast it, it's kinda small.  Or nuke it...
As a kid, living in the city, we couldn't get rid of those critters. Been living out in the country now about forty years,  and the only time we see one is when we bring one back from a store.  And they cannot survive out here, as we have too many geckos, spiders and scorpions for competition. Believe it or not, in WWII, POW's raised them in their camps for protein to supplement rations.  Survival is a strong instinct.

I had a roach do a similar act on a microwave I had while in college. The roaches in Arizona are a darker brown than that one and come in a variety of sizes. Still better than dealing with scorpions. I have geckos and spiders where I live now and don't get so many of them any more.

A convection oven should be easy enough to disassemble to the point where your six legged friend can be removed. That will void the warranty if the oven still has one in effect, so you'd want to wait until it expires before taking the oven apart. You could also try gently "tapping" (for want of a better term) the oven on the counter to shake the bug out of the display window . . .

I just battled some lobster sized relatives of your visitor upon moving into my new apt. I bought some spray and thoroughly sprayed my place. Haven’t seen one in several days PTL. Can’t stand them!

Yes. When his first escape attempt put him in solitary he ate any kind of bug he could find. Then later, off the island he floated away on gourds and escaped in shark infested water. He had guts.
