I was interested in delving into other instances in scripture where God gives up the majority of a large group of faithful and obedient " chosen" , saving only a remnant of them so we could better understand the " tribulation " slaughter numbers ? Those that pick and choose scripture to support an incorrect view will likely do this to obfuscate the plain reading of many facts regarding the end times. They will say that Matt 24 is just aimed at Israelis, thus negating the Olivet discourse. Sad. Just read it as written. Tribulation is not from the Lord. Wrath at the end when He returns for his saints is the Lord's doing. Just plain and simple as written. How many the tribulations will kill is unknown, but it will be a large number. The Wrath of God is not for the saints.

Unfailing Presence I've been playing with this in my mind for some time now. It's only a hunch, not fact ok, just something nagging me. If we were to estimate the "tribulation" slaughter numbers could it be possible to work out like this?; If the 144K, sealed saints (minority) are the called the firstfruits, then they must represent what the firstfruits initially were of the old Testament. The firstfruits kept aside for the Lord, were 10%, if I am right. The tithing percentage. This is where I get stuck. (a) Are the 10% firstfruits, a percentage of all who will take place in the first resurrection.... from all generations after Christ? or (b) would that 10% be the percentage of all Christians living in the end times who go through the fire? 10% of this lot? If it's (a), then it is impossible to work out how many will be "slaughtered" If (b), then we have something to work on.
