A man sitting in a man made temple showing himself that he is God ,does not cause desolation. If he did then he would be more than a man.

A man claiming to be God anywhere on this earth does not cause desolation.

A man killing a pig and offering it to something that does not exist, does not cause desolation.

When the Romans destroyed a building in Jerusalem did not cause desolation. Many Romans remained in Jerusalem after they tore down many building and set fire to the city.Yet the city was not desolate.

The abomination that causes desolation is exactly as it is described. An abomination that causes desolation.

Does anyone on this board know something that a man can do that can cause desolation?

A land without inhabitants?

Anyone?

Here is an excellent clue In the scripture itself as to what causes the desolation in so many countries in the middle east in scripture. In the above verse, the abomination that causes desolation is something placed  by a millitary(arms).

Now ask yourself, what does a military place in an area to cause it to be desolate?

Remember.Common sense is something God gave us to use.

Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

G2050
ἐρήμωσις
erēmōsis
er-ay'-mo-sis
From G2049; despoliation: - desolation.

G2049
ἐρημόω
erēmoō
er-ay-mo'-o
From G2048; to lay waste (literally or figuratively): - (bring to, make) desolate (-ion), come to nought.

How does the anti-christ desolate?   By getting people to worship him.

Rev 13:12  And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast(the political system) before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

Rev 13:13  And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

Rev 13:14  And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast(political system); saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

This image is of himself broadcast to the world threw TV, phones etc as Messiah but he is the fake.

Rev 6:8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death(Satan's name is death Heb 2:14), and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword(sword of deception which is opposite of the sword that comes out of Christ mouth the Truth Rev 1:16), and with hunger,(Amos 8:11) and with death,(he causes spiritual death if you follow him) and with the beasts of the earth.(the political beast system)

Having People worship an image of a man or a kingdom or anything else does not cause desolation.Making an image does not cause desolation.

Billions of people have bowed down to the image of budda for centuries and has never caused anything to be desolate.

But a military that can make fire come down out of heaven can cause desolation.

As it is written

http://biblehub.com/kjv/daniel/11-31.htm

(Arms) places the abomination that causes desolation. And it is those Arms that can make fire come down out of heaven.

Thank God for common sense.

These are pictures of the desolation  by an abomination. This is an example of the  desolation that can be caused by those who are capable of making such fire come down out of heaven.

Jesus did not associate the desolation with talking images or dead pigs or people worship.

Jesus associated the desolation of Jerusalem with armies.

People, don't listen to this person. You will be led astray! Take the Bible literally, without interposing your own worldview. Or someone else's skewed commentary.
