The Rapture at the 6th Seal Explained

Recommended Posts

There are numerous prophecies that will be fulfill just before the rapture of the church and the commencement of the tribulation as foretold in the prophetic books of the old testament. However, in the book of Revelation, the next prophetic event to occur is the rapture that will take place during the 6th Seal.

John gives his detail of the event on the rapture in Revelation 6:12-13 involving an earthquake, the sky receding and stars falling from the sky. A clip from a movie in the video below is about as close to John's description from any rapture movie I've ever seen.

Revelation 6:12-14 New King James Version (NKJV)

12 I looked when He opened the sixth seal, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became like blood. 13 And the stars of heaven fell to the earth, as a fig tree drops its late figs when it is shaken by a mighty wind. 14 Then the sky receded as a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place.

Revelation 6:15-17 is the reaction from people all over the world who were left behind knowing what had just happened was the rapture and knowing they will now have to face the wrath of God. People will know the only way millions of Christians suddenly vanished could only have been the rapture of the church. Many will become believers on the day of the rapture and begin turning to God.

In Matthew 24:36-39, Jesus said nobody knew when the tribulation started till they saw the flood during the days of Noah. When the rapture hits, the whole world will also know the tribulation has started.

Revelation 6:15-17 New King James Version (NKJV)

15 And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, 16 and said to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17 For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?”

Matthew 24:36-39 New King James Version (NKJV)

36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Just as in the days of Noah when the flood came and everyone realized the tribulation came upon them, the rapture is a pretty effective way to sound the alarm letting the whole world know the tribulation has just started when millions of Christians all over the world had vanished causing millions of collisions worldwide. Panic and chaos grips the world as millions of vehicles involving cars, trucks, buses, trains, planes, boats are without drivers and pilots suddenly crashes.

The world will realize the prophecies of the biblical rapture is real as millions that had vanished were all Christians. In Revelation 6:15-17, the world reacts knowing they were left behind and will have to face God's wrath in the tribulation.

At the same time during the 6th Seal, God seals the 144,000 Jews as mentioned in Revelation 7:1-8.

Continuing on at the 6th Seal, we then find the great multitude of the church appearing in heaven standing before God with Jesus in their midst.

Revelation 7:9-17 New King James Version (NKJV)

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, 10 and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” 11 All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying:

“Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom,
Thanksgiving and honor and power and might,
Be to our God forever and ever.
Amen.”

13 Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?”

14 And I said to him, “Sir, you know.”

So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them. 16 They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; 17 for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

In summary at the 6th Seal.

Revelation 6:12-14 = The rapture of the church.

Revelation 6:15-17 = The world's reaction after being left behind knowing the wrath of God has begun.

Revelation 7:1-8 = The sealing of the 144,000 at the beginning of the tribulation.

Revelation 7: 9-17 = The church appears in heaven standing before God.

The 6th Seal is the next prophetic event in the book of Revelation. There's other prophecies mentioned in the old testament that will happen before the rapture of the church and the tribulation commences.

Currently we're at the 5th Seal, the time of the martyrs. In at least the last four years, Christian persecution has hit an all time high with each new year exceeding the previous year.

Revelation 6:9-11 New King James Version (NKJV)

When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” 11 Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.

Revelation 6:15-17 is the reaction from people all over the world who were left behind knowing what had just happened was the rapture and knowing they will now have to face the wrath of God.

Where does it state their reaction is due to the rapture?

The only reaction you have in Rev 6:15-17 are cosmic events.

Revelation 7: 9-17 = The church appears in heaven standing before God

Rev 7:9-17 is not a picture of the Rapture....the NT Greek actually refutes this position, since John is not looking at a single event but a continual event.

Currently we're at the 5th Seal

No we are not, the 5th seal is the great tribilation as Christ states

Matthew 24:15

So when you see standing in the holy place 'the abomination that causes desolation,' spoken of through the prophet Daniel--let the reader understand--

Matthew 24:21

For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now--and never to be equaled again.

Matthew 24:29

"Immediately after the distress of those days "'the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'

In other words:

Great tribulation then cosmic events.

5th seal then 6th seal

We cant be in the 5th seal as the antichrist has not appeared yet.

Not true .... give one example

The construction of the 3rd Temple. The tribulation will begin shortly after the foundation of the temple has been laid. This will be the most notable sign of all prophecies given to the world. Anyone staying watchful as Jesus commanded will not miss seeing this sign. Mark 13:37.

You see in Revelation 6:15-17, the tribulation begins shortly after the rapture takes place. The rapture of the church is what starts the tribulation, not the confirmation of the covenant in Daniel 9:27.

In the book of Haggai, it's revealed that God will begin the tribulation shortly after the foundation of the temple has been laid. Meaning the rapture will also come shortly.

Haggai 2:18-22 New King James Version (NKJV)

18 ‘Consider now from this day forward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the day that the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid—consider it: 19 Is the seed still in the barn? As yet the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yielded fruit. But from this day I will bless you.’”

20 And again the word of the Lord came to Haggai on the twenty-fourth day of the month, saying, 21 “Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying:

‘I will shake heaven and earth.
22 I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms;
I will destroy the strength of the Gentile kingdoms.
I will overthrow the chariots
And those who ride in them;
The horses and their riders shall come down,
Every one by the sword of his brother.

Haggai 2:6-9 New King James Version (NKJV)

“For thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts. ‘And in this place I will give peace,’ says the Lord of hosts.”

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Haggai 2%3A6-9&version=NKJV

Once the foundation of the temple is set up, the rapture is about as imminent as it can get. Haggai 2:6.

The tribulation will not begin until Israel is the same as it was before 70 AD when Jerusalem was her capital and a temple in her midst.

The Lord's removal of His own will come first .... then the Lord will bring His tribulation and wrath upon an unbelieving world

Your ideas related to the temple are about His millennial temple which will be built just after the ending of the coming tribulation period

Are you actually saying you don't think there will b a temple in Jerusalem during the tribulation period?
